WBAS Calendar of events

Our monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm are packed full of interest with demonstrations or talks from top professionals and we have a great line up for this year.

WE BRING YOU A NEW ARTIST-MATT WARUSZYNSKI

June 3 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

How exciting to bring a new artist to WBAS! Matt lives in Northamptonshire and he specialises in figurative work and portraits. He is interested in exploring how the body and face tell the story of our lives. He has a impasto style, applying paint thickly. Matt describes his method as “sculpting with paint”. His background is in animation, so he is drawn to fast energetic marks to give a sense of life and movement in his work.

Tony Hinchliffe's visits to Watford seem to have been blighted, so we do hope that his visit to us on Tuesday 6th May will be the third time lucky!

Tony will be using oils to create this piece entitled "Nothing Less". He will show us how important it is to connect a portrait to the background. If you are like me and have looked forward to seeing this beautiful painting brought to life for so long now, you'll be certain to keep your diary clear for this event!
